Description
Ideal for EIFS: adhesive + base coat in a single product
Allows EPS boards to be glued and fiberglass mesh to be adhered using the same mortar, ensuring a strong, flexible base that is ready for the final coating.
Excellent workability and finish
It is easy to apply, offers good adhesion to different substrates, and allows for a smooth, even, and neat surface, ideal for painting or finishing with coatings.
Flexibility and waterproofing for greater durability
Once dry, it maintains high flexibility and contributes to the waterproofing of the system, improving performance and service life indoors or outdoors.
BASECOAT is a mortar formulated with hydraulic cements and synthetic polymers, specially designed for use in EIFS systems as an adhesive for EPS boards, for bonding fiberglass mesh, and as a leveling layer for different surfaces.
It offers excellent workability, adhesion, and flexibility once dry, and helps to make the system waterproof. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use and is easily prepared by adding water.

Surface preparation:
All substrates must be stable and structurally sound. If necessary, mechanically clean the substrate by polishing or other means until a solid, firm substrate is obtained.
Mechanically clean any substance that could interfere with the adhesion of the mortar (e.g., grease, oil, wax, dust, plaster, paint, etc.).
Moisten the surface or prime it with the appropriate T-CON adhesion promoter for the surface to be coated.
If in doubt, consult the T-CON technical department. The temperature at the time of installation must be at least 5°C.
Preparation of the mixture and application instructions:
First add the water and then the powder while beginning to mix. It is recommended to mix in a well-ventilated area and wear a dust mask. Use a low-speed drill mixer, maintaining a ratio of 5.5 to 6 L of water (22 to 24%) for each 50 pound bag of Basecoat T-CON. Once prepared, let it rest for 10 minutes and mix again until you obtain a smooth mixture.
If using Basecoat T-CON to fill joints between panels, the layer should be thin, no more than 1 mm. Remove the excess with the same trowel used for application.
Allow to dry for 4 hours before applying the next coat. Apply an even coat 3 mm thick, and soak the fiberglass mesh.
If necessary, apply another coat to achieve a smooth, fine finish so that the surface can be painted.
Allow to dry for 24 hours before installing the final covering. As an adhesive for EPS boards, spread Basecoat T-CON on the wall and the back of the board with a notched trowel, then place the board on the wall and press down. To level surfaces, apply a layer no thicker than 6 mm with a metal trowel.
